Correcting a Missed/Forgotten Clock In

Table of Contents

If an employee forgets to clock in, there are a few ways to fix it depending on the timing.

Option 1: Have the employee clock in right away

If the employee is currently on site and realizes they forgot to punch in, they can simply clock in as soon as possible. The system will record that punch time, they can explain why they are late and you can later adjust it (if needed) once the time card closes.

Option 2: Manually add an entry

If the employee can’t punch in themselves, you can manually trigger an ENTRY for them from the WHO’S WORKING page.

  1. Go to WHO’S WORKING.
  2. Find the employee.
  3. Click the ENTRY action in the drop down to create their punch-in time.

Editing the time card

You must wait until the end of the employee’s shift before you can edit their time card.
This is because the time card remains open while the employee is still clocked in. The system needs both a start (clock in) and an end (clock out) time to calculate total hours, breaks, and pay accurately.

Once the shift is complete and the employee clocks out (or you manually trigger an EXIT), the time card closes and can then be edited to adjust start or end times.
