How do restrict access in the app when I use COOKIES access restrictions?

What This Article Covers

How to configure the TimeWellScheduled punch app so that it can only be accessed when the device is properly authorised via your “Cookies”-based access restrictions. This ensures punches (or other app access) are only allowed under your approved device policy.

Setup Steps

  1. If you haven’t, download and install the app.
  2. On the device, open the app and go to Settings (click the i icon bottom right).
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the settings list to locate the entry PASSWORD OF ANY ADMIN.
  4. Enter the password of any administrator employee account.
  5. Click SAVE.

Once set up correctly, the device becomes authorised to perform punches.

If the administrator in step 4 changes their password, you will need to do update the app following the steps above.



What Happens If Setup Is Incorrect (COOKIE BASED BLOCKING ONLY)

  • If the ADMIN PASSWORD is not entered or is incorrect, attempts to punch on the app will be blocked. The user will see a message indicating the device is not authorised.
  • In short: No admin password → no access via the app.

This ensures that only devices explicitly authorised by you (via an administrator account) can be used — helping enforce security and compliance with your company’s access policy.
