Banked Hours – Accrual Setup Example

Receive a fixed number of hours per year
In this example below, the employee will
- receive 24 hours into “Bereavement” bank
- will be added every year on Jan 1
- hours do NOT carry forward to the new year
Receive a percent based on approved hours
In this example below, the employee will
- receive 4% hours into “Vacation” bank
- will be added every 2 weeks
- will be based on the last 2 weeks approved hours
- 10hrs can be carried forward each year (unused)
- Employee can request MORE hours than they are entitled (ex. at the start of the year they can request vacation for the summer even though they haven’t earned it yet).
Ex. The employee worked 60hrs approved RT during the last 2 weeks. The employee will earn 2.4hrs into the “Vacation” bank.
